About GamHope
This web-site is the joint project of the State of Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ Problem Gambling Services and the Institute for Problem Gambling (IPG). The IPG, a non-profit organization located in Middletown, Connecticut, was founded in 1998 to help reduce the consequences of problem gambling for individuals, families and communities. Many members of its board of directors have devoted their professional lives to achieve this goal. Click here to learn more about our directors and the IPG.
Together we have developed this on-line resource for problem gamblers and the people who care about them. It is designed to answer many of your questions including: “Do I or someone close to me have a gambling problem?” In addition the site contains information about sources of help, and includes two self-directed workbooks. The first book is designed to help problem gamblers make decisions about their gambling. The second is a ten-chapter workbook to help them make the changes they need to regain control over their own lives.
